Rip Off Express - AcerCloud

Acer isĀ holding a press conference at the moment. One of the first things they have announced is a cloud service (AcerCloud) which will in part be offing a service like Apple’s Photo Stream. Here the slide from their presentation:

Here is the slide from Apple’s 2011 WWDC Keynote introducing Photo Stream as a part of iCloud.

They could have at least made a slight effort to make it look different.

They even used Apple’s AirPort logo (just upside down):

On the technical side Acer is only storing 30 days worth of pictures on your devices which I believe to be a major flaw. Aooke stores 1000 pictures and just keep 30 days worth on in the cloud. Apple assumes that all of your devices will connect within 30 days and have a chance to download new pictures. Apple has a mechanism for saving Photo Stream photos to your device permanently (by moving them into albums) I’m not sure is Acer has such a method.
